Head of School Message
Dear parents/carers,
We have made it to the end of the first half term! And finished off with an extremely busy week full of hard work, parent meetings and dance performances! A huge thank you to those of you who came to meet with your child’s class teacher this week to see how they have settled in. If you were not able to attend, please contact your child’s class teacher via admin@bicton.shropshire.sch.uk and they will arrange a catch up with you.
We would be very grateful if parents/carers are able to spare a few minutes to complete our survey: Parent/Carer Survey Autumn 2025. This helps us to know what we are doing well, and what we can do better on and we truly value all of your input.
Have a lovely week and we will look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 4th November.

News from the Severn Loop
Dear Friends,
As we begin our season of remembrance, we are holding a Pet Memorial Service at Albrighton Church at 3pm on Sunday (26th October, followed by refreshments). Our service will include an opportunity to give thanks for our deceased non-human companions whom we’ve loved and cared for down the years. All are most welcome, and if you’ like to, you could bring a photo of the pet/s you are remembering. We hope that our time together will be a source of comfort to all who mourn the loss of an animal companion.
Please note, this isn’t a ‘Pet service’, so we’re only expecting humans to attend! Albrighton Church is opposite the Albrighton Hall Hotel, and there is parking- just after you pass the church on your right, turn immediately right and then right again, and you’ll go down a track to the carpark.
With blessings,
Hannah x
Reading The Game Champions!
Birch class had their last reading the game session with Coach Neil from Shrewsbury Town Football Club this week. All children managed to secure themselves a win in the RTG Champions league final! Over the half term children have enjoyed a wide range of reading and writing activities including writing persuasive letters, recounts and even submitting designs for a new Shrewsbury Town kit!

Consultation on Updated RSHE Policy – September 2026 Implementation
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding the Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) curriculum. In July 2025, the Department for Education issued revised statutory guidance on RSHE, which will come into effect from September 2026.
In response to this change, our school has developed a draft RSHE policy that reflects the new government requirements while remaining sensitive to the needs and values of our school community. A copy of the draft policy is now available to view on the school website:
Policies and School Development
As part of our commitment to working in partnership with families, we will be holding a parent/carer consultation during the week commencing 10th November 2025. This will take the form of an online questionnaire, which will be sent to you directly by the school.
Your feedback is vital in helping us shape a policy that reflects our shared values and supports our pupils effectively. We would greatly appreciate your time in reviewing the draft and providing your thoughts.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Mavin
