Weekly News 5th January 2018

Welcome back and thank you

It has been lovely to see the children’s smiling faces again this week and listen to what they have been up to over the holidays!

Thank you for all your support and understanding with the school closures and changes to arrangements before the end of last term. We were faced with very unexpected and challenging circumstances but we are looking forward to a new term and an exciting new year.

Rearranged performances

A huge well done to Class 1 and 2 for their Nativity performance this morning. Considering they have had a break of several weeks they performed fantastically and with clear enjoyment. This is the first time that it has been such a young group performing the Nativity, made up almost entirely of just Reception and Year 1 children, which makes their achievements even more amazing. Thank you to everyone who was able to watch the performance this morning and we look forward to seeing you at the next performance on Monday evening at Bicton Church.

We are also looking forward to seeing Classes 3, 4 and 5 perform their Christmas concerts next Tuesday and Thursday and celebrating all their hard work. Please can children arrive at school at 5:15 p.m. for the Nativity and for the Class 3/4/5 concerts. The school hall will be open for parents for the Tuesday and Thursday performances from 5:15 p.m. and thank you in advance to FOBs for offering to serve refreshments on both nights.

Please remember that there is no Film Club on Tuesday.

Speeding

Concerns have been raised again about the speed of some parents driving to and from Breakfast Club.  The safety of all members of our school community is paramount and we would therefore ask drivers to slow down so that nobody is seriously injured. Thank you.

SCHOOL CLOSED FRIDAY 15TH DECEMBER

We regret to inform you that the engineers have been unable to repair our heating system and are unable to provide sufficient heat to the school and nursery so we have no option than to remain closed on Friday 15th December.

We are aware that the children may have things in school that they may need over the Christmas break e..g  Christmas jumpers, wellies etc so some staff will be in school from 3:00 until 4:00 on Friday afternoon to allow you to collect your child’s belongings if you wish.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support.
